Unit7 Protect the Earth(Story time)
教学目标:
1.学生能初步理解并且会听、会说、会读和会拼写单词及词组:use,much,oil,glass等,和会运用句型:we use... to...
2.学生能初步听懂并且会说、会读单词protect the Earth,coal,save energy, come from, cut down,waste water,reuse,plastic, wood, too much, useful 等。
3.学生能初步感知情态动词should及shouldn’t的用法
4.学生能初步感知保护环境的重要性。
教学重点 :
学生能初步能理解并且会听、会说、会读和会拼写单词及词组:use,much,oil,glass等,和会运用句型:we use... To... 并掌握课文内容.
教学难点:
1.学生能初步感知情态动词should及shouldn’t的用法
2.初步感知保护环境的重要性
教学过程:
Step1. Greeting and lead-in
1. Greeting
2. Sing a song< Two little blackbirds>
Q: why do the little blackbirds fly away?
Ss: Because the air is dirty./ Because there aren’t any trees on the hill.
3.Free talk
T:When is Earth Day?
S1:It’s on 22nd April.
T:When is World Environment Day?
S2:It’s on 5th June.
T:What do these days tell us?
S3:We should protect our Earth.
T: Now our living environment is polluted, so we should protect the Earth.——出示课题并教读。
We should make the Earth a better place for you and me, and the entire human race.

设计意图: 利用前一单元所学内容,围绕环境问题,自然过渡到本单元主题——保护地球学习。教师可以就Culture time 的两个公益日和学生进行问答活动,引出本单元话题。
Step 2. Pre-reading
1.出示无污染的地球图片。
T:Look, the Earth is a beautiful place. There are many kinds of sources
2.Guessing game and teach the new words
T: Here are another sources. Let’s guess what they are.
① It’s black and hard. We can find it under the ground. It can make us warm. There’s a lot of it in Shanxi.
② It’s a black liquid. We can find it under the ground too. Cars need it.
③ It’s usually white and thin. We can write and draw on it.
④ It comes from trees. We use it to make tables, desks, chairs, beds and many other things.
⑤ It’s light and soft, but it’s strong. It’s widespread in our life.
3.T: They are useful things for us, how do we use them?
For example: We use coal and oil to make energy.
E.g. We use water to clean things, wash clothes, cook food...
We use paper to make books.
We use wood to make tables, chairs, beds and other things.
We use plastics to make bags and bottles.
设计意图:游戏猜谜形式,丰富课堂教学方法,完成课文部分单词的新授,增加学生学习的趣味性。引导学生说出water,wood,paper,plastic等资源的用法,同时操练了句型use... to...
Step 3. While- reading
呈现一幅被污染的地球图片。
T:Look at this picture. Is it still beautiful? Today, there is a lot of pollution. We should protect the Earth at once.(点题)
What can we do?
1. Watch the cartoon and find the four key points of the text.
( save water, save energy, save trees and don’t use too much plastic) 并板书。
2. Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
① What do you think of water?
② What do we use water to do?
③ Is there a lot of water everywhere?
④ What shouldn’t we do?
⑤ What should we do?
教师根据学生回答进行板书。
3. Read the second part and judge.
① Most of our energy comes from coal and oil. (T)
② There is a lot of coal and oil on Earth. (F)
③ We should drive cars every day. (F)
④ Cars use lots of energy. (T)
4. Teach the third part
教学 cut down呈现光头强砍树的画面。
T: What is he doing?
S1: He is cutting down trees.
T: Is he right? We should stop him right now. Why?
引导学生说出 Trees help keep the air clean.
5.Teach the fourth part
塑料瓶、塑料袋实物展示。
T: we use plastic to make bags and bottles. We often use them in our daily life. Do you often use them?
呈现课文图片。
T: Look at this picture. What do you think of it?
引出句子:Too much plastics is bad for the Earth.
T: What should we do?
板书:We should ... We shouldn’t ...
设计意图: 感知课文的基础上,归纳课文的四个要点,再采取不同的教学方法,让学生自主理解课文,培养学生的主动学习意识,提高阅读理解能力,掌握保护地球的四个方面措施。
Step 4. Post-reading
1. Read the whole passage loudly and finish the exercise ” think and write” on page70, and then check the answers.
2. Retell the text according to the blackboard design.
3. Brain-storm.
T: The Earth is so important for us. We should protect it. Now I’ll give you some suggestion. Can you tell me what we can do.
E.g. T: To protect the Earth, we should save water.
4.Introduce the slogan “Save the world, save our lives” to the students.
设计意图: 提供具体的会话句型,让学生的复习课文内容。学生可以从save water, save energy, save woods, Do not use plastic(保护水,保护能源,保护树木,少用塑料)四个方面进行表述。并且通过“Save the world, save our lives”的口号培养学生的保护地球意识。
Step 5. Homework
1. Read and retell the passage.
2. Finish the exercise “True or False” on page70.
3. Collect and make good use of waste materials.
